Janet Hatton is a full time health visitor for Hessle Care, Janet Hatton is married with two children and has lived in Swanland for nine years.
Born in Batley, West Yorkshire, Mrs Hatton entered the nursing profession in 1965 at Dewsbury and Staincliffe Hospitals where she trained as a midwife.
She is currently studying part-time for a BSc in community nursing at the University of Hull.
The 54 year olds interests include reading, music, walking and ballroom dancing.
Mrs Hatton became involved in politics when she joined the Referendum Party before the 1997 General Election.
It was not until October last year that she decided to join the UK Independence Party and her decision to stand for election as MP for Cleethorpes was made just two weeks ago.
One of her main campaign point’s is Europe as she believes British people are not being given a say, particularly over the future of the pound.
She said”I think people should have a vote on this issue. It is really very much at the centre of people’s thinking. People should have a choice, a say about the European Union."
