NWRA Impartial Referendum Project by Electoral Education Ltd

5) EDUCATE THE YOUNG ON THE ISSUES AND GET THEIR VIEWS

A fundamental part of Electoral Education Ltd roll is to try and inform the next generation of voters to enable them to participate in our democratic processes fully understanding the power they can have by exercising their vote. We appreciate that there are many competing, perhaps more exciting, calls on their time but do not subscribe that “they are not interested” approach.

We believe that if, through the educational system, that an impartial electoral education programme can be installed then our young could leave full time education understanding democracy and full capable of participating – because they understand the issues and are already used to have their views considered.

To this end we are planning Presentations to schools etc and preparing lesson plans to enable their teachers to cover this Referendum fully without fear of being accused of partiality.
