Friday 25th April saw the formation of an advisory group to assist ElectionsUK in getting younger peoples views included in the Active Citizenship Project and the roll out regionally.
The team are all members of the Council for Young People of North East Lincolnshire which was established shortly after the first election for the United Kingdom Youth Parliament MYP. Ten individuals set up the CfYP to provide democratic expression of young people’s views in the area. See www.cfyp.co.uk
John Trevitt, Director ElectionsUK welcomed Ruth Jackson MYP, Member of the Youth Parliament for North East Lincolnshire, as Chairman of the Group, who is supported as founder members by Chris Cooke, Matthew Greening-Jackson and Andrew Gallant. Their first task is to help in activating the ElectionsUK message board and registering people for the ElectionsUK Polling Panel.
Richard Bellamy, Executive Secretary, gave the new team a presentation of past and current work and each member was given a web based email address on the ElectionsUK.org private system.
